Concerned Youth advises Awe Tunbosun to show gratitude to Senator Ipinsagba

A youth from Ondo North Senatorial District, Bankole Akerele, has penned an open letter to Awe Tunbosun, a former aide to Senator Jide Ipinsagba, urging him to show appreciation and respect to his former principal.

Tunbosun, who recently resigned from his role as Ward Liaison Officer for Isowopo Ward 2 in Akoko North East Local Government, had cited dissatisfaction with his N20,000 monthly stipend in a publicly circulated resignation letter.

He argued that the pay was inadequate given the country’s current economic climate and did not reflect the new national minimum wage passed by the National Assembly, where Senator Ipinsagba serves.

In response, Akerele condemned the ex-aide’s outburst, describing it as ungrateful and ill-mannered. In a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday, he called on Tunbosun to remember the goodwill and financial support he received from the senator — including assistance during his wedding and the gift of a cow.

Akerele also recalled that Ipinsagba had supported Tunbosun as a Personal Assistant during the administration of former Governor Olusegun Agagu.

Expressing disappointment over Tunbosun’s recent alliance with another senatorial hopeful, Akerele urged him to embrace humility and civility, cautioning that his recent actions could damage both his political relationships and personal reputation.

The open letter has since stirred conversations in political circles across the district, as observers await a potential response from Tunbosun.
