NAOSS-OAU celebrates President’s birthday with academic, welfare initiatives

The National Association of Ondo State Students, Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter (NAOSS-OAU), on April 25, 2025, celebrated the birthday of its President, Hon. Boluwatife Olatunji Paul (BOP), with a series of activities designed to promote academic excellence, educational support, and spiritual reflection.

The day began with a Spelling Bee and Quiz Competition held at the Student Union Building (SUB) TV Room.

Although scheduled for a 10:00 AM start, the event officially commenced at 11:20 AM and attracted students from various local government areas across Ondo State.

The competition fostered healthy academic rivalry and showcased the intellectual capacity of the students.

At the end of the keenly contested event, Akinlade Oluwadunsin Justinah and Akinwale Olubunmi Glory, both from Ondo West Local Government Area, alongside Adegoke Kolapo Divine from Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area, distinguished themselves as top performers.

Further highlighting the association’s commitment to academic empowerment, a special Rain Semester Scholarship Award was presented to three outstanding students.

Those honoured were Akinwale Olubunmi Glory, Owoseni Enoch Oluwatosin, and Lawal Suyi, who had been shortlisted through a rigorous selection process based on merit and need.

The scholarship awards reaffirmed NAOSS-OAU’s dedication to the welfare and educational advancement of its members.

The day's activities concluded with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Our Lady of Perpetual Light Chapel (OLPLC) on the university's Religious Ground, where members gathered at 5:30 PM to offer prayers of gratitude.

The service provided an opportunity to thank God for the life and leadership of Hon. Boluwatife Olatunji Paul and to reflect on the progress made under his tenure.

With these initiatives, NAOSS-OAU continues to stand as a beacon of unity, academic excellence, and support for Ondo State students at Obafemi Awolowo University.
