BREAKING: Yahaya Bello honours EFCC's invitation

Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has once again appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to address allegations of misappropriation of funds.

Reliable sources close to the EFCC confirmed that Bello arrived at the commission’s office on Tuesday morning, accompanied by his legal team. Contrary to speculations, the current Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, was not present during the visit.

This development comes in the wake of a recent Supreme Court judgment affirming the constitutionality of the EFCC's operations.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that Bello drove himself to the EFCC office in a black Hilux vehicle, maintaining a low profile alongside his lawyers.

Speculation about his visit had circulated last week, but inquiries directed to the former governor’s media aides went unanswered.

At a previous court session on November 14, the EFCC sought an adjournment until November 27, arguing that the 30-day window for the summons issued against Bello was still valid.

Meanwhile, the commission granted administrative bail to his co-defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu, while requesting additional time for Bello’s appearance.
