A Grade ‘A’ Customary Court in Ibadan, on Tuesday, remanded one 28-year-old Babalola Idowu, who pleaded guilty to stealing from a supermarket he worked in.
Idowu and one Babatunde Abass, 19, both of whom worked with Justrite Supermarket, Sango, Ibadan, were charged with conspiracy and stealing.
However, while Idowu pleaded guilty, Abass pleaded not guilty.
The Court President, Mrs Sukurat Yusuf, remanded Idowu at the Agodi custodial facility in Ibadan pending review of the facts of the case and judgment slated for July 16.
Yusuf granted Abass bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until July 16 for hearing.
The prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, had told the court that the defendants committed the offences on June 27 at the supermarket.
He said that the defendants conspired to steal biscuits, Hollandia milk and energy drinks worth N215, 000 from the supermarket.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
