Ondo MHWUN Commends Akeredolu For Ordering Payment Of Hazard Allowance


The Medical and Health Workers' Union of Nigeria (MHWUN), has expressed appreciation to the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration for releasing a circular for the payment of 100 percent hazard allowance to its members and other health personnel on the payroll of the state government.

According to the MHWUN leadership, the approval and payment of the hazard allowance would go along way in reducing financial challenge of its members amidst economic hardship.

In a press statement signed by the MWHUN State Chairman, Comrade Segun Ajiboye and the State Secretary, Comrade Steve Modupe, the Union affirmed the continuous commitment of health and medical workers to duties after the government's gesture.

The Ondo State Government has released the circular to effect the payment of 100 percent hazard allowance to the medical Doctors under government payroll. The payment of the allowance will take effect from 2nd October, 2023.

The MHWUN Leadership while commending the gesture, calls on Governor Akeredolu to order the payment arrears on the hazard allowance.

Comrade Ajiboye said the circular for the payment of the hazard allowance has again shown clearly that Governor Akeredolu is a workers' friendly Governor and committed to the welfare of medical personnel in the state.

The MHWUN Chairman who also lauded the recent decision of the state government to recruit 1,000 fresh health workers, urged to speed up the process to further boost the health sector in the state.
