Anniversary: Ondo Speaker hopeful of greater Nigeria

The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, says he is hopeful of a greater and better Nigeria as the country celebrates its 63rd independence anniversary.

Oladiji, in a message on Sunday in Akure,  commended  Nigerians for their doggedness and resilience in the face of current economic realities.

He explained that no doubt things were hard, saying that with prayers and hard work, there would  be a positive turn-around in the fortune of the  country.

The speaker called on Nigerians to continue to pray for their  leaders for the requisite wisdom, knowledge and guidance to pilot the affairs of the nation.

On the impending nationwide strike called by labour unions, Oladiji called for dialogue with  understanding, adding that it was the only way to meet the demands of workers.

He  congratulated the state governor,
Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, members of his cabinet and the entire citizenry of the state on the occasion of the 63rd  anniversary.

He also called for a moderate celebration in view of the daunting economic challenges in the country.
