The annual Bemore Summer Boot Camp, initiated by the First Lady of Ondo State, Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu and organised by the Bemore Empowered Girls' Foundation, has been described as a platform that has added incredible values to the lives of young girls over the years.
This assessment was given by Chief (Mrs) Nkem Olusola-Oke, wife of Chief Alexander Olusola-Oke, SAN, Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
"Chief Nkem, in a statement, said: "In the last six years of training young Nigerian girls of secondary school ages, Bemore has proven to be a big blessing, not just to Ondo State but the country at large. It has made significant contributions to their development and still do.
The values that this very laudable programme has added to the lives of the girls cannot possibly be measured in material terms. The benefits have been invaluable and incredible. I commend the First Lady, our own illustrious Ada Owere I for setting the pace and doing well for our girls."
Mrs Olusola-Oke however encouraged the girls to take full advantage of the trainings offered by the summer boot camp, saying: "This is one good opportunity for you to take full advantage of. You should be ready to learn as much as you can and add value to yourself so that you can become better persons after your time in the boot camp."
Established in 2017, the Bemore Summer Boot Camp has produced a good number of solar engineers, ICT experts and promising enterprenuers in five editions. The 2023 batch, presently holding at Mabest Academy, Oke-Ijebu, Akure, Ondo State Capital, is the sixth edition.
