Police Parade Suspected Killers of Naval Officer In Ondo

By Adeboye Ado

The Ondo state police command has paraded three suspects in connection with the death of a Naval officer identified as Akingbagbohun Samuel Ayomide.

The officer was reportedly killed on Monday by suspected thugs after an argument ensued between him and a motorcyclist at Idoani in Ose local government area of the state.

Parading the suspects, spokesperson of Ondo Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the suspects were arrested while trying to flee the community after allegedly committing the crime.

One of the suspects, 20yr-old Sambo Ayomide who confessed to the crime, explained that the deceased was hit with a rod after a minor disagreement on road.

The suspect said the officer was beaten this week Monday because they thought he was a fake naval man, noting that they did not have the intention of killing him.

Odunlami-Omisanya, who noted that it took a joint effort to get the suspects apprehended, said they would be charged to Court on Monday, July 3 2023 for immediate prosecution.
