An Iyaganku Magistrates' Court, Ibadan, on Tuesday ordered that one Samuel Adekanbi, 35, be remanded in Agodi correctional facility, Ibadan, for allegedly raping a 19-year-old lady.
Adekanbi,whose residential address was not provided was charged with rape.
The Magistrate, Mrs T. B. Oyekanmi did not take the plea of the defendant for want in jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
She adjourned the case until July 27, for mention.
The Prosecutor, ASP Sikiru Ibrahim told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on May 10, at about 9. 30 p.m, at Adetutu road opposite Moniya police station, Ibadan.
Ibrahim alleged that Adekanbi had unlawful carnal knowledge of the 19-year-old lady without her consent.
He said the offence contravened Section 358 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000. (NAN)
