The Police Council has confirmed Mr Usman Baba as the nation’s substantive Inspector-General of Police.
The decision was taken at the council’s meeting presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Friday.
Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Maigari Dingyadi, confirmed the development to State House correspondents at the end of the meeting.
Recall that Buhari had on April 6 appointed Baba as acting IGP.
