She said the power was out, and bars were using candles, while safety lights remained on, thanks to the backup generator in Ski Dubai!

The Mall of the Emirates confirmed this:
We experienced a temporary power outage in parts of the mall due to a technical issue earlier this evening. The issue has been resolved and power has been restored.
