Video & Photos: Electricity/Power at Mall of Emirates, Dubai goes off

The power at Mall of the Emirates (MOE), Dubai went out yesterday evening, with backup generators powering safety lights.

It was assumed to be due to the unstable weather conditions and heavy sandstorms.
A Twitter user shared pictures of the darkness at Apres (Restauarant) in MOE.
She said the power was out, and bars were using candles, while safety lights remained on, thanks to the backup generator in Ski Dubai!

The Mall of the Emirates confirmed this:

We experienced a temporary power outage in parts of the mall due to a technical issue earlier this evening. The issue has been resolved and power has been restored. We apologize for any inconvenience caused during this period and we thank you for your patience.

Some ENOC petrol stations were also reported to have had power outages.
