Kano boys college closed over alleged sodomy

Following the outrage caused by the alleged rape of some males students of Hassan Ibrahim Gwarzo private boarding School, Kano, by unknown men who invaded their school, (read here) the state govt has reportedly closed down the college.

Acting Governor of the state, Professor Hafiz Abubakar directed that the college be sealed immediately for proper investigation while a 14 member committee has been set up to investigate the rape allegations and turn in their report within two weeks.

The police in Kano, who were initially accused of preventing investigation, have launched a full blown criminal inquest to unravel the mystery surrounding the sexual assault. One of the victim is now receiving treatment at Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital.
